Immigration Medical Assessments
What you need to know
Thank you for coming to Hillside Medical Clinic for your immigration medical assessment. To complete the application process, you will need to fill in the secure online form here and bring the adequate documents to your appointment:
1 - Pictures
TWO pictures of yourself taken within the last six months.
Please see the enclosed information sheet to take to the photographer.
2 - Identification
Current government identification, which must be one from the list below:
. Original passport
. National ID Card
. Refugee travel document
. Red Cross travel document
. UN laissez-passer
. OAS travel document
. Refugee Protection Claimant
3 - Translation
Limited translating services are available. It may be helpful to bring a translator to whom you are not related. To help you with this, you may call the Multicultural and Immigration Services Association office here in Campbell River at 250-830-0171.
IMPORTANT NOTES
If you are an Express Entry, please make sure you bring a copy of your letter with you to your appointment. It will need to be attached to your CIC file.Also as a reminder please bring or wear your glasses or contact lenses as prescribed. We will collect a urine specimen in the clinic. The urine test cannot be done during menstruation if applicable. You will receive from us after the examination the appropriate requisitions which in most cases includes a chest x-ray and bloodwork. You do not need to be fasting from food or water. The examination will take approximately 30 minutes. The x-rays must be done in the hospital across the street and the blood work done in a nearby laboratory. The lab currently closes at 4 PM.
Also bring documentation of receiving any COVID vaccine.

Our fees are set by Doctors of BC. The initial visit, physical examination, one follow up visit by phone or in person, and forwarding the records to Ottawa cost $225.00 plus GST.
For CUAET applicants, we are adjusting fees for the appropriate meeting, ordering and filing of investigations to $75 for those 15 and older; $50 for those 14 and younger (+GST). One follow up visit by phone, or in person can be booked for an extra charge.
Any other phone calls or communication must be booked with the front desk and may be subject to an extra charge.
Our office accept cash, debit, Master Card and Visa. The X-ray and lab fees, if applicable, are separate and may vary in price. Please call three days in advance if you have to cancel an appointment.
Our office policy is to charge $50.00 if you do not attend your appointment. We will do our best to have you seen promptly. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time.
